Great "case study" of all the different things someone in a job search should be doing from a networking perspective. Now multiply this activity over 100 contacts - you're toughest challenge will not be what should I do? but rather how should I prioritize?

Most candidates spend the vast majority of their time searching the job boards and responding to ads - what a waste. Spend no more than 10-15% of your time on job board activity.

If you want to reduce your job search time, perhaps you should be more like Staci!

Interesting post - I'm going to apply some of the ideas into a project I'm currently working on in the 'self-promotion' area of things.

The example you provide illustrates perfectly how to approach Job Search Networking. Hopefully, as Barry states, this type of thing should discourage people from trawling through Job Sites too much.
